Wilderness Medicine
The back-country is a very unique and ever changing environment. With this said…there is a high chance that you will encounter a situation where you or someone you know needs medical attention. Your chances will increase the more you spend time in the back-country. Prevention is always key! In the case of an unfavorable event, you must be prepared to effectively and safely mitigate risk and render medical aid.
We have partnered with the Wilderness Medicine Training Center since 2010. This partnership has allowed us to provide high quality, practical courses with world class instructors. Our wilderness medicine courses are for those recreational enthusiast or back-country professionals who want to be prepared for this unlikely event. Our courses provide you with a full color textbook, waterproof field guide, and certification in the most current standards of practices.
We offer the following certification courses:
The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is designed to be an introductory course to wilderness medicine.
The Advanced Wilderness First Aid (AWFA) course is designed for outdoor recreationalists and is significantly more detailed than the Wilderness First Aid course, including emphasis on common critical body system problems and environmental topics.
The Wilderness First Responder (WFR) is the industry standard and is the recommended certification for professional guides, instructors, and expedition leaders.
